Procrastination's Price Tag: Is Like Ignoring a Toothache (Trust Me on This)
Hey there, music makers!
This newsletter's hitting a bit differently today. I just left an oral surgeon consultation that turned what I thought would be a simple fix into a months-long journey that will cost six times what I'd planned. Yes, you read that right - six times.
Sitting in that office, watching my plans (and wallet) get reorganized in real time, I started questioning everything. What did I miss or do wrong? Did I put my trust in the wrong professionals? How did they miss this? Was my research lacking, or was I too hasty in addressing the situation?
These questions led me down a deeper path of reflection. It made me think about how often we do this same dance in our creative lives - putting off the important stuff until it becomes urgent, trusting the wrong advice, or rushing through crucial decisions.
You know what I mean: That unfinished album. The video content you know you should be making. The music training you've been meaning to start. The networking you keep pushing off.
The facts are laid out for me now with this medical situation - I have to move forward and do what's needed to prevent bigger issues. But it got me thinking about you, and the creative "toothaches" you might be ignoring.
So I'm asking you (and trust me, I'm asking myself the same things):
What are you putting off in your creative journey?
What corners are you cutting that might come back to haunt you?
What are you doing right now that could cause a lot of lost time or frustration to sort through later?
What can be done to change course before it becomes expensive or unobtainable?

A year from now you may wish you had started today." — Karen Lamb
Sometimes the most expensive thing we can do is nothing at all. What's your creative toothache? Hit reply and let me know - I'd genuinely love to hear what you're grappling with.
Stay creative (and proactive),
